Ecommerce Retail Shopping Cart
The shopping cart software we use, prestashop, follows most of the the normal shopping cart conventions and operates in a way that suits most types of retail business and products that you could want to sell online.
A few highlights of prestashop cart software:
- Flat rate shipping or weight/price based by state, country or region are available
- Australia post shipping is an option if you want to be precise in measuring your goods
- There is no limit to the number of products and categories
- Customers can pay via PayPal (Visa / MasterCard), COD, direct deposit or cheque, if you have an eftpos terminal then you can have ‘offline’ credit card payments using that too
- You can select featured products to display on homepage
- There is a stock management option to limit quantity available if you want
- Simple checkout process for customers
- Newsletter opt-in when someone buys
- You can offer gift-wrapping if you want
- The pricing and basic product details can all be updated via the online administration tool.

Once off setup fee: $1620 plus GST
This amount provides for:
- Design of the shopping cart layout based on your logo or colours
- Design of the content management layout and theming
- A suitable favicon for users who bookmark/favorite the site
- Implementation and configuration of the shopping carts as described
- 2 x 1 hour training sessions on using the cart and cms
Optional extras:
- Extra training sessions, $100/hr
- Homepage image slideshow or product viewer ‘carousel’ on the homepage: $150
- Display twitter posts on homepage: $30
- Setup connection to Google Analytics: $20
- Adding a product to your cart: $5 ea
Running cost: $55 per month
- Web hosting for the shopping cart and content management system
(email hosting, webmail and server statistics) - An SSL certificate and dedicated IP address for additional security
- Ongoing upgrades and security patches to the cart software, typically 3 – 6 times a year
- Ongoing upgrades and patches for the cms software, monthly
- Daily backups of the shopping cart files and database to remote servers
- A reasonable amount of ongoing help via phone or email with using the website if you get stuck or run into difficulties or have questions that you aren’t able to figure out yourself or can’t find answers in the help files and wiki.
The monthly fee starts from 3 months after the launch of your website, ie. once we have completed all that we need to do to get the websites working for you and you’ve had some time to get the products on there.
